Before spring break ends, you may want to consider spending some more time at the beach. Don’t just go somewhere ordinary. Experience what the world’s best beaches have to offer. You’ll never have another spring break like 2014’s so consider booking those plane tickets now and going to the following beach destinations as ranked by TripAdvisor.

You may not agree with the ranking here but you can’t deny that these destinations are certainly worth visiting. Check them out!

1. Baia do Sancho, Brazil

Located in Fernando de Noronha in Brazil, this spectacular beach is hailed as TripAdvisor’s list of top Traveler’s Choice beaches. From it’s number four ranking last year, this  excellent Brazilian tourist attraction is often described as idyllic. Best of all, you can visit the beach year-round.

2. Grace Bay, Providenciales

TripAdvisor’s second best for 2014 is the five-mile long Grace Bay in Providenciales. It retained its previous ranking — something that is not really surprising considering that this charming destination has a distinctive look accentuated by rugged hills, ridges, and cactuses. The area’s world class diving spots are also to die for.

3. Flamenco Beach, Puerto Rico

Situated in the Island of Culebra, Flamenco Beach is renowned as a swimming, sport fishing, and diving destination. It is in a uniquely horseshoe-shaped bay and is considered as the best beach in Puerto Rico. It rose two spots from its number 5 position last year. This stunning beach is open year-round and has a multitude of kiosks that sell food, clothes, beach accessories, and various other consumer items.

4. Rabbit Beach, Italy

Featuring exquisitely clear waters, Rabbit Beach in Lampedusa, Italy was once on top of TripAdvisor’s best beach list. It is a haven for snorkeling. There is an abundance of fish for snorkelers to enjoy watching. The beach’s sands are also characteristically golden. Numerous hotels, bed and breakfasts, and vacation rentals are in the area to serve tourists. Recommended time of the year to visit Rabbit Beach is from May to September.

5. Whitehaven Beach, Australia

This pristine beach with shallow warm and crystal clear waters was in the number 3 spot last year. Located at Whitsunday Island, the Whitehaven Beach is a more-than-four-mile stretch available for beach-loving tourists year-round. It is also the location of the annual Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim, an open swimming competition that is part of the Hamilton Island Triathlon Event.

6. Playa de ses Illetes, Spain

With a view of Ibiza on the horizon, Playa de ses Illetes in Formentera, Spain features majestic seascapes that are bound to captivate tourists. The beach has fine sand that definitely feels great on your feet as you stroll along and enjoy the comforting breeze. Also, this year-round beach destination has many fancy stalls.

7. Anse Lazio, Seychelles

Impressively hopping 10 spots from the number 17 position last year, Anse Lazio in Praslin Island, Seychelles is a marvelous beach with distinctively blue waters and large granite boulders along parts of the shores. It is on the northeast of Madagascar and in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The view alone is already stunning. Taking a dip into this gorgeous beach is even more invigorating.

8. Lanikai Beach, Hawaii

Of course, what would a listing of best beaches be without including some of Hawaii’s finest. Lanikai Beach is one of the best destinations for those who want to enjoy the warmth after winter in a place that does not undergo winter. It is relatively small, stretching to just half a mile of coastal area. Nevertheless, it is regarded as one of the best beaches in the world. Surrounding Lanikai Beach are numerous inns and vacation rentals so you can be sure of great accommodation.

9. Rhossili Bay, Wales

The former number 10 beach in the world according to TripAdvisor is up a notch this year. Located in Swansea, Wales, Rhossili Bay obviously does not have the warmth summer beaches in tropical regions can offer. Nevertheless, it offers spectacular views reminiscent of postcard images along with a rugged landscape, white sands, and clear waters.

10. Playa Norte, Mexico

This famous Mexican beach is located in Isla Mujeres. It is a new entry on the top 10 list. Characterized by a wide shore, Playa Norte is indeed a wonderful and majestic beach destination. Tourists will see the best of it by having their trip scheduled between July to September.

There are many other beaches in the world that deserve even greater tourist visits. The ten mentioned above are just some of the best, mostly based on popularity. For many, of course, the popularity of a destination is a big factor so ranking them according to the number of tourists they draw makes sense. These beaches also enjoy high ratings and great comments from travelers.

Moreover, photos of these scenic destinations are bound to be postcard-worthy. They don’t even require Photoshop enhancement to look great. So bring your camera along and enjoy taking photos while enjoying the fresh breeze and relaxing waters of the world’s top beaches in 2014.
