Liveaboard: Diving Adventures on Board a Ship
Vacations are more than just a time to rest, relax, and get away from all the hustle and bustle of life. Vacation is one more way for us to experience to beauty of this world and gives us more time to appreciate just how wonderful planet Earth is. One of the best ways to experience the beauty of nature is through scuba diving. However, you can still take it one step further and that is by experiencing the wonders of the sea through a liveaboard diving vacation.
Liveaboard is your home on the sea
A liveaboard is basically a boat that is specially designed for people to live on. Some people have migrated from the traditional housing system to living on these boats since they are mobile and can provide a lot more amenities and recreational activities compared to the common house. However, the same idea was also adapted by scuba diving tours and has now become commonplace in recreational scuba diving.
The liveaboard services offered by the scuba diving industry caters to guests that wish to stay onboard for a couple of days to allow them to dive more places and for longer durations. Since the boat is mobile, it can travel between diving spots but unlike a day boat tour, since there is more time for the boat to travel, divers can head to farther places to see more diverse underwater sceneries.
Liveaboard Tours
The sea is teeming with vibrant color and wonderful sites to see. The underwater kingdom is something that we do not see every day, that is why viewing it is always a fresh and new experience.
If you wish to have a vacation that is both unforgettable and educational, then scuba diving is a great option. If you are not yet accustomed to diving or it is your first time, then going on a liveaboard is a better option since you will have more time to practice and dive around. Most big name diving tours nowadays offer this service since it allows tourists to maximize their diving time. On day trips, the boat will leave from the shore and will have to return the same day. In contrast, with a liveaboard the travel time can be spent diving around or moving to a different location.
Where to go and what to see
Typically, there are plenty of places you can visit with a liveaboard tour. It will depend on which tour company you get but most companies have a cruise package. If you wish to go on one, you must first decide on the specific country or dive site that you wish to go to. For example, there are plenty of beautiful dive sites in the Similan Islands near Thailand. There are liveaboard cruises coming from Khao Lak and Phuket which can take you around the various islands with beautiful thriving reefs.
You can also avail of Indonesian liveaboard trips which can take you tot he Komodo islands. A bonus on that diving adventure is a trip to the islands themselves and you can have a close encounter with a komodo dragon. Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelago, and it has a lot of great dive sites.
Another great destination would be Maldives since there are plenty to see at the outer atolls. The Maldives is a country composed of more than 300 islands and most of them are uninhabited. It can be found in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
One of the most popular tourist destinations would be the Great Barrier Reef which is located off the Pacific coast near Australia. It is also home to some of the most wonderful and spectacular marine life in the world. Essentially, there are three regions within the great barrier reef and those are the Whitsunday Islands, Green Island, and Southern Reef Islands.
The sea contains a lot of beautiful things and is a world that we don’t often see. That is why if you are looking for a vacation going on a liveaboard cruise and exploring all the depths of the sea is perhaps one of the best things that you can do. If you are an avid scuba diver or if you would like to have an extended diving adventure, a liveaboard scuba diving tour would be a great experience. Besides diving, it would allow you to travel to different countries in search of more diving adventures.
