Things to Do to Survive a Mandatory 14-Day Quarantine for Foreign Arrivals

Some countries already allowed foreign visitors provided that they submit themselves to a mandatory 14-day quarantine. It’s the best way to prevent the further spread of the virus. Most of these countries no longer have a local transmission. Therefore, they’re extra cautious in allowing anyone to get in. If you’re unwilling to submit yourself to this policy, you should cancel your trip. Besides, you only have a few days to go on a leisure trip because of work. However, if you need to travel, and you have nothing to leave behind, you can pursue this trip. These are some useful tips to help you get through the mandatory 14-day quarantine.

Mentally prepare yourself

Boredom is probably the worst part of undergoing a quarantine. You will run out of things to do for 14 days. Imagine being in a confined space for that long. It will make you crazy. At first, it seems relaxing, but you will get tired of doing it. Tell yourself that you will go through this process if you want to continue your trip. Try doing some mindfulness activities since they will help you stay calm throughout the process.

Download your favorite shows

If your chosen quarantine facility doesn’t offer a stable internet connection, you can at least have something to do if you’ve already downloads all the movies you want to watch. Your internet might be good enough for regular browsing only. If you can’t watch these movies, it would be terrible. You will make likely get bored and give up.

Start a project

Think of a project that you can do for the next 14 days. Find something fun or useful. You can learn something new. It could be a useful skill that you can apply when the quarantine is over. You can also try doing arts and crafts. Some of them are complicated, and now is the right time to do them. Again, you have 14 days and there’s nothing else on your schedule.

Study a short-term course

If you’re always yearning to learn, this is the best time to do it. You can look for a short-term course that will help you improve in your chosen profession. It can also be a new field that you have always wanted to explore. Given the availability of online courses and certifications, you can study whatever course you want. The world is your classroom, and it couldn’t be any better.

List the people you can call

You might also want to use this opportunity to connect with as many people as possible. You’ve promised plenty of them that you will reach out, but you’ve always been busy. Since you have nothing to do, it might be time to connect. They will appreciate your efforts. It’s also a good way to rekindle old friendships and start over.

Have a fitness plan

Being in a quarantine for 14 days will most likely make you gain weight. You can’t go anywhere. You might not even have the chance to use a fitness gym. The best thing to do is have a fitness plan. You can follow tutorial videos online. Download them before the quarantine to prevent internet issues. You can also bring light fitness equipment like a jumping rope or a fitness ball that you can inflate. A yoga mat is also important. Pack gym clothing so you will feel comfortable.

Nutrition is part of this plan. Make sure that you already coordinate with your chosen quarantine facility about your diet plan. You can’t go out to shop whatever you want. You can’t even cook. You have to settle for whatever food is given. It should be heathy and can help achieve your fitness goals.

With these tips, you won’t worry about your quarantine anymore. It’s something to look forward to.
