Seattle is known as the Emerald City because its rich in lush green trees that it was amazingly able to keep, although it has greatly changed and developed throughout the years. It’s one of the richest cities not just in Washington, but in the entire country of USA. Seattle is multi-cultural and every neighborhood has a different thing to offer. Whether you’re looking for an artistic vibe, the latest buzz, gorgeous nature, great foods, interesting museums and more, you’ll find it here in this city. Here are some of the things that you shouldn’t miss when you take a trip in the city of Seattle.

Shop at the Pike Place Market

This market has been around since 1907, making it one of the oldest markets in the city. Not only you’ll have a great shopping experience here, but you’ll also be walking in a place that’s already part of Seattle’s history. You’ll also be able to enjoy the beautiful and relaxing view of the Elliott Bay while at the market. Its close proximity to waters also lets you find the freshest seafood available in the main level of Pike Place Market. You’ll also find other fresh produce here including fruits and vegetables. Take the stairs going under and check out the small shops that sell different things including antiques and various crafts.

Visit the Museum of History & Industry

If you want to learn more about the history of Seattle and find out more about the life here dating from its early years to the present, the Museum of History and Industry is the place to go. Since outside the museum is a lake, you’ll also get the chance to enjoy watching float planes and boats. There’s also the Center for Wooden Boats nearby where you can see hundreds of old boats on display. If you want to try boating on the lake, boat rental is also available.

Go Sightseeing While Riding in One of the Ferries in the City

Since Seattle is also surrounded by bodies of water, one way to go sightseeing and enjoy the view is by riding one of the ferries that you can easily find in the city. Head to Pier 52 to board one and relax while heading to Winslow Way. There are various shops, cafes and restaurants that are only a few minutes walk away from the drop off point, which you can visit as part of your day trip.

Get a Bird’s Eye View of the City from the Space Needle

One of the main attractions in Seattle is the Space Needle. This uniquely shaped structure is towering high at 605 feet. This is a great place to visit if you wish to get a fantastic view of the entire city. This tower is open every day from morning to evening. There’s also the Skycity Restaurant where you could dine while enjoying the breathtaking view of Seattle.

Other things that you could do in the city are visit the Olympic Sculpture Park, explore the Seattle Art Museum and check out Ballard Locks.
